Terms & Conditions
Last updated 11 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Devi Ahilya Prakashan, trading as Yashraj Books ("we", "us"), for using our website, mobile apps, reader and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, or by buying a book or a package, you accept them.
1. Who we are
Yashraj Books publishes and distributes digital study material for commerce, law, economics and mathematics students preparing for CA, CS, CMA and university examinations, and operates the reading platform at yashrajbooks.com and its mobile apps. The Service is run by Devi Ahilya Prakashan, 26, Subhash Chowk, Khajuri Bazar, Rajwada, Indore 452002, Madhya Pradesh, India.
For anything about these terms, your account or a purchase, see our Contact Us page, use Help & Support in your account, or write to business@yashrajbooks.com.
2. Your account
- You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. There is no password. You are responsible for keeping your phone and SIM secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to buy on the Service.
- Give accurate details (name, email, university, college, course) so that invoices, recommendations and support are correct. Your university is also how institution-linked access is managed (see section 5).
- One person, one account, one device at a time. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred. Signing in on a new device signs the previous one out.
3. What you buy: book plans and packages
- A plan gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to read a book inside our reader for the period shown at checkout. A package is several books sold together under one plan; buying it gives you a separate licence for each book in the package, for the package's period.
- If you already have an active licence for a book and buy it again (on its own or inside a package), the extra time is added to your existing end date — you are never charged twice for the same days.
- Some plans are only on sale between certain dates. A plan that isn't on sale can't be bought or renewed until it is again.
- Free books need no plan but follow the same reading rules.
- Plans are one-off purchases. Nothing renews automatically and we don't store card details. Prices can change, but a change never affects a plan you've already bought.
- When a plan ends, the book can't be opened until you renew. Your bookmarks, highlights and reading position are kept.
4. Payments, wallet and referral credits
- Payments are processed by PhonePe Payment Gateway — you can pay with any UPI app (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM and others), a debit or credit card, or net banking, on PhonePe's own secure page. We receive confirmation and a reference, never your card, UPI or bank credentials. A GST invoice is issued for every successful order and can be downloaded from Account → Orders.
- Your wallet holds credits from approved refunds, referral rewards, compensation for withdrawn books and goodwill adjustments. Wallet credit can only be spent on the Service, has no cash value, can't be transferred and can't be withdrawn as cash, except where the Refund & Cancellation Policy says otherwise. When wallet credit covers part of an order, only the rest is charged to your payment method.
- Refunds follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy — in short, a full refund only within 30 minutes of purchase and before 5% of the book has been opened (for a package, 5% of the most-read book in it), credited to your wallet.
- Referral rewards are paid to the referrer's wallet after the referred student's first successful purchase. We may withhold or reverse a reward that looks self-referred, automated or abusive.
5. Institution-linked access
Some books are made available for students of a particular university or institution, or until a particular exam ends. If that arrangement ends, or the exam is over, we may withdraw access to those books before the plan's end date. Where you paid for a plan that is withdrawn this way, you may be credited for the unused portion as described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Your rentals will show such a plan as "Access revoked".
6. Offline reading in the apps
The mobile apps let you save a book you have access to for offline reading. The saved copy is encrypted, tied to your account and that device, opens only inside the Yashraj app, and stops opening when your plan ends, when you sign out, or when access is withdrawn. It is not a file you own or can move to another app. Offline saving is not available on the website.
7. Using the reader — what you may and may not do
All books, notes and papers on the Service are protected by copyright and belong to us or our licensors. Buying a plan doesn't transfer ownership. You may read the content in our reader for your own personal study, and make highlights, notes and bookmarks for your own use.
You may not:
- copy, print, screenshot, screen-record, photograph or otherwise reproduce any part of a book, or try to extract an offline copy;
- share your account, your screen or the content with anyone, or make it available on any other platform or group;
- remove, hide or tamper with the watermark shown on each page, which identifies your account;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, automate access to, or bypass any protection in the reader, the apps or the Service;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or to harass our staff or other students.
The reader blocks copying and printing, the Android app blocks screenshots and screen recording while a book is open, and attempts to get around these protections are recorded against the account with basic device information. Breaching this section is a breach of these terms: we may suspend or close the account and, for serious or repeated breaches, pursue legal remedies. Amounts paid for a plan used in breach are not refundable.
8. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. If an outage stops you reading for a material part of a plan, contact support and we'll extend it.
We may add, change or withdraw books, packages and features. If we withdraw a book you hold an active plan for, we'll credit the unused portion to your wallet, or to your original payment method on request.
9. Suspension and closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Your profile, or by contacting support — see Account & Data Deletion. Deleting your account ends all active plans without refund, except where the Refund & Cancellation Policy says otherwise.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe is used fraudulently. A suspended account is signed out on every device and can't sign in until the suspension is lifted. Where we can, we'll tell you why and let you respond.
10. Liability
Our content is study material. We take care to keep it accurate, but it is not a substitute for the official syllabus, examination notices or professional advice, and we don't guarantee any examination result.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected with the Service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Indian law, including for fraud.
11. Privacy
How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please raise any complaint first with support or our Grievance Officer (see Contact Us). Disputes we can't resolve are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Nothing here removes your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When a change is material we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top shows which version applies; continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
